Tamar Feinberg, Ph.D.
Tamar is a cell biologist and cancer researcher with broad expertise in modeling complex tumor biology to investigate cellular transformation, heterogeneity, invasion, and metastasis. Prior to joining Volastra, Tamar completed her postdoctoral training at The Rockefeller University, where she examined the tumor stem cell crosstalk and microenvironmental cues driving skin carcinoma progression. Before training at Rockefeller, Tamar completed her graduate and early postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan, where she uncovered the extracellular matrix remodeling programs and proteolytic machinery governing normal breast epithelial development and malignant tumor progression. Tamar received her B.S. in Biochemistry and Biology at Brandeis University and her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Michigan.
